A Note From Nathan

Hi.  Mallory and I are getting married!  In Italy.  The wedding will be on October 6, 2018, and we’d love for you to join us.

But you already know all of that from the invitation.  Here’s part of our fairy tale that you may not know.

Once upon a time, (not too) long, long ago, Mallory decided to learn Italian.  As a capstone, she spent a college semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy, where she spent day and night finding all of the city’s gems—some obvious (like the “cupola” of the city's famous cathedral, the Duomo), and others hidden (like her favorite restaurant, La Giostra).

Many years later, on April 15, 2016, I was celebrating my last day at Arnold & Porter before beginning a clerkship with Judge Reyna.  I asked Mallory if she wanted to go on an adventure.  She said yes.  The next day, I took her on a picnic at my favorite garden in DC—Dumbarton Oaks.  The date went so well that, one year later, Mallory invited me to join her for a week in Florence, so that she could share all of her favorite places with me.

We stayed by the Duomo, and ate at La Giostra (allegedly, I cried reading the menu).  One day, Mallory led me through the city on an adventure to find all of the best sammiches ("panini" in Italian), and then took me on a picnic at her favorite garden—the Boboli Gardens at the Pitti Palace. When the last panino was finito, I asked Mallory to marry me, so that our fairy tale could last forever.  She said yes.

Now, we would like to bring our closest friends and family (that’s you) back to Florence, to experience what we consider the perfect Italian day.  We'll tell you more as we get closer to October, but for now, you can find travel information and answers to frequently asked questions by clicking on the links above.
