Vino
In Italy, good wine is everywhere —- including on tap! If you want to buy an expensive bottle, go for it. But, in Florence, even the inexpensive stuff is great.
If you bring home a bottle, make sure to enjoy it with food; Tuscan wines are meant to be paired, and chianti typically is too harsh to drink on its own.
Caffè
In Italian, the word caffè means “espresso.” If you’re looking for basic coffee, order a caffè Americano. But bear in mind that “to go” cups aren’t really a thing; in Italy, coffee is meant to be enjoyed at the café or bar at which it is ordered.
